About CalculiX
CalculiX is a free software nonlinear
three-dimensional finite element program for structural applications. It
includes nonlinear static, nonlinear dynamic (implicit and explicit),
frequency, buckling and modal dynamic calculations. Available materials
are elastic, hyperelastic and elastoplastic materials. It comes with a
preprocessor to generate and mesh the structures, and a postprocessor to
view the results (stresses..) by means of contour plots and animation

formats for CalculiX are based on those used by ABAQUS, a proprietary,
general purpose finite element code developed and supported by
Dassault Systèmes (http://www.abaqus.com) and are used with
kind permission from them. Results obtained from CalculiX are in no way
connected to ABAQUS.
